Happy Halloween! Not that the french know how to celebrate it...so we had to show them a thing or two. We had a little get-together at our place on Halloween night and we anglophones (we the americans and a few british friends) dressed up; I was a black cat. Meredith was an angel. That's Aimee in the background as a pirate. But our French friends totally thoug
ht we were CRAZY! They don't get the concept that its funny and totally socially aceptable to dress up for Halloween. And they also don't get it that you don't have to be something scary. Like they kept asking Meredith why she was an angel cause that's not frightening.Anyway, we had a group over at our place and then met up with some more non-dressed-up frenchies at a club nearby where we danced the night away. My whiskers melted off my face within the first hour cause it was so hot in the club, but it was really fun.
We didn't get any trick-or-treaters, surprise surprise. We didn't even buy any candy just in case. One good thing about France is that November 1st is a national holiday, so you get to sleep in lots! Wouldn't that be nice if that were the case in the States and the poor school teachers didn't have to deal with sugar high hang-over from the kids the next day?

Being stared at in the metro at 5.30am for wearing a batgirl mask and lip ring...an experience that every girl needs to feel welcome in a foreign country! We need to teach them a thing or two!
